Ford is going to turn its concept Ford Iosis into a reality (debut) in the coming Frankfurt Motor Show. This car was displayed as a concept in the Geneva Motor Show this year. A five door coupe will be having some advance features like Ford Ecoboost Direct injection petrol engine, semi automatic parallel parking and a blind spot detection system. Some of these terminologies may be new to you but this car is technically very sound.
The company claims to start this coupe production from mid 2010. This will be the first car which is to be developed from Ford C segment platform. The car has 1.6 litre four cylinder turbocharged engine. The details on performance stats will be unveiled in the coming motor show.
Semi Automatic Parallel Parking System
Semi automatic parallel parking system completes its parking task by calculating the required trajectory and the dimensions of the car. The steering effort is increased or decreased depending upon the car’s position. If the car moves in the desired trajectory where the car is to be parked, then the steering efforts are reduced, otherwise steering efforts will be increased.
Blind Spot Monitoring System
Blind spot monitoring system employs radar signals which keep the driver alert about the vehicles advancing the car or coming from behind. This system reduces the possibility of road accidents. The light signal will automatically be turned red if the vehicle is coming towards your car during the overtaking. This system basically employs a pair of cameras, display and a controller. The cameras generate the signals in the car’s blind spot and hence the display system does the work of the side view mirrors in a much advanced form by showing the rear view image. This image extends when the collision is to be expected in the car’s blind spot.
This advanced security system in this car is certainly going to increase its public demand, what do you think??
