GM, being the second world leading automakers, has decided to establish its Science lab in China at Shanghai. GM on becoming a victim of the Global recession is now poised to make such decisions. This science lab will bring the new innovations and technologies in the market. 100 staff members are expected to become a part of this institution under the supervision of John Du who has 20 years of management excellence. This is the first largest project being started by GM in China.
The lab is expected to resolve many problems related to the auto industry like Global warming, transformation from fuel energy to electric energy, making green technologies even more common, use of batteries, pedestrian safety concerns, light weight cars and much more. This lab will work in collaboration with the universities and government of China.
Alan Taub, GMs new Vice President of Global Research and Development says:
“Our vision for the China Science Lab is to be recognized as a world-class R&D organization that will help drive GMs automotive business into the future. Our aim is to develop breakthrough technologies that will differentiate GM vehicles in the marketplace and build on GMs long history of industry firsts. The China Science Labs opening demonstrates that GM is moving aggressively to maintain leadership in breakthrough technological research globally.”
